So at one point russia actually acknowledged they didn't singlehandedly win against Hitler. And that the West wasn't always the enemy.

um.... why are people killing russian soldiers? Because they are invading another country! But of course people are supposed to greet invaders with flowers, or else no holds barred on savagery. They "deserve" it because they resisted and didn't understand they were "brothers".
