A year without
Artyom Kamardin's wife, Sasha, wrote this poem after a year since his arrest:
It’s been a year since Artem was taken from me.
You can learn a foreign language in a year.
You can read 250 books in a year.
You can learn to drive a car in a year.
You can move to another country in a year.
You can complete a course at a university in a year.
Mental problems can be solved in a year.
In a year you can fall in love and love with all your heart.
In a year you can save someone's life.
You can get a cat and a dog in a year.
You can give birth to a child in a year.
Artem has been in prison for a year.
A year of panic attacks and fears.
A year of trying to rebuild myself.
A year of anxiety and pain.
A year in a stuffy little cell.
A year of getting up at six in the morning.
Year of the courts.
A year of absence of normal medicines and doctors.
A year without hugs from mom.
A year is 365 days.
It's been a year since I've been imprisoned with him.
One touch per year.
One chance to kiss.
Two dates a month for an hour and a half through two
glasses, bars and distance.
We have been without warm evenings and walks around the city
for a year now.
We've been going to our favorite bars for a year.
A year without hugs and the warmth of our bodies.
A year without coffee in the morning and delicious
cheesecakes for breakfast.
A year without cute gifts given to each other.
A year without joy and smiles.
A year of psychotherapy.
A year of taking antidepressants.
A year of hatred and pain.
A year without a loved one."
